Sky Sport Germany reports that Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku has no plans to leave the club in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old has started just one Premier League game this season – in the 2-0 defeat at ufabet https://ufabet999.app Manchester City on the opening day – playing just 152 minutes of football thanks to the arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto in addition to the likes of Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.
The current situation has led to continued speculation about his future, with the media reporting that he will leave the team in January.
However, the German media reported that Nkunku has no plans to leave the team during the winter transfer window and is focused on competing for a regular place in the team.
Commenting on Nkunku’s difficulty in securing playing time in the Premier League, Blues’ boss Enzo Maresca remarked earlier this week: “Christo, every time he plays, he scores, and he does well. Also, he was probably our best player in pre-season, no doubt.
“He was playing then as an attacking midfielder and now we are using him as a nine, which we all know isn’t his position, he’s more a second striker or between the lines.
“But I try to find solution and balance with all of them but not all of them can be in their position, they have to adapt a bit.”
Chelsea will be back in action on Sunday, hosting London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League and return from the international break with a trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City.
For Nkunku, he is still a key player for the team in the European competition, the Europa Conference League, starting all three games, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
